Disappointment…

How do you feel when things don’t go the way you’ve planned? When someone has hurt you? When you feel people should support and help you but they turn their backs?

Everyday and every time we live with different expectations. We have our hopes and aspirations. We have things we expect as we live on day by day. They are expectations that are strongly held. We are so keen to see them happen because we depend on them. The failure of those tightly-held expectations and aspirations is called disappointment.

Have you ever been disappointed? Disappointment is not only when people fail you or fail to do things for you. It is when anything you can name that makes up your aspirations fail to be fulfilled. It may be when people don’t meet the demands you want them meet. Infact it may be when you yourself fail to meet your task.

It is any feeling of dissatisfaction that follows the failure of expectations or hopes to manifest. It doesn’t matter how small or big it is, the feeling is the same.

Disappointments are bound to happen. This is because you have to seek before you find and it’s not immediately you start seeking you find. The fact that you have to seek itself is a disappointment.

The feeling of disappointment is normal. It is very good as it reminds you that you are human. What is bad is allowing it to affect you negatively. When you don’t let go of the hurt and you never give yourself time to brace up. You can talk to someone about it.

Don’t forget to wake up as fast as possible, face reality and plan for the future.

Do you know that disappointment still has ways of helping you? It makes you develop more passion for whatever you are trying to get- if truly you want to.

You should know that disappointment is a tool of discouragement and you shouldn’t allow it. It makes you tougher and stronger. When you come out of discouragement, you’re never the same old person. You are stronger and better- if you choose to.

It also gives you the opportunity to assess your plans, actions, life, wish and the likes. You find out why you were disappointed and how to avoid it next time.

Don’t forget that the only person that never disappoints is God. You may feel He has disappointed you in time past because things didn’t go as you want. You don’t know that His own plan for your life is different. It’s of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end. Maybe you were even the one that disappointed Him.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Encourage yourself and move on.

Just find your grip one more time.

Stand up and throw the feeling away.

Your expectations will still be fulfilled just push it harder.
